Summer Distribution Laborers

Summer Job Opening – May through September

$14.45 an hour

Hours:  8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p. m.  Monday-Friday


Delaware County:  4 openings

Morrow County:   2 Openings.

Summary of Responsibilities: Under general supervision, the Summer Distribution Laborer will be working with a team of 2 to 4 people scraping, power washing and painting fire hydrants.  The job requires you to work in the heat and humidity and you should expect to get paint on you.  The company will provide t-shirts and shoes.  On rainy days or bad weather days, you may be given other tasks such as landscaping, cleaning or helping other departments with various general tasks.  You may be asked to assist with the installation and repair of water lines and setting taps and similar tasks. You will operate power tools and drive company vehicles.

Minimum Qualifications: This is a general labor position and you should have any combination of training and work experience, which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge and responsibilities listed.   You must be able to perform manual labor and work in adverse weather conditions.   You must be dependable, a self-starter, detailed oriented, and have the ability to work as part of a team.  Must be at least 18 years of age and have an acceptable driving record.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals.  The employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions.  The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
