Customer Service Rep I and II

Del-Co Water Company is recruiting for a Full-Time Customer Service Rep I and Customer Service Rep II.   Both positions report to the Billing Supervisor.   

Customer Service Rep I:   Job Grade: 6                                        

Responsibilities:   Answer all incoming customer service inquires such as water usage, rates, and watering restrictions.  Arrange payment terms in accordance with company guidelines.  Research and resolve payment discrepancies.  Resolve customer complaints.  Contact customers in order to obtain or relay account information.  Maintain notes within customer’s accounts.  Document the additions, changes, and updates to the customer’s information in the database. Review billing, edits, and double checks for accuracy.  Communicate with others on work order, reading requests, and other customer requests. Receive and process in house water payments and balance cash drawer. Greet customers and assist at drive thru and counter, and perform general clerical duties.

Qualifications:  Two or more years of customer service experience preferred. Requires proven core competency in all basic CSR responsibilities.  Must have proven ability to collect, comprehend, and communicate information. Exceptional verbal and written communications skills required. Must be well organized, detail oriented, and be able and willing to work as part of a team.  Proficient data entry and typing skills are a must. Comprehensive understanding of basic math skills needed.  Accounting experience desired. Must be able to operate a ten-key calculator quickly and accurately, and have experience operating general office equipment.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows, Office, Word, Access and Excel.   A high school diploma/GED required.

Customer Service Rep II:   Job Grade 8

Responsibilities: Includes all duties of the CS Rep 1 plus additional Billing responsibilities.  Upload and reconcile daily bank payments files.  Prepare, calculate, post, and create monthly customer statements. Process account transfers in customer database.  Input new customer locations into customer database.  Coordinate the tasks associated with delinquent accounts and termination of service.  Generate and submit usage reports to sewer departments. Process meter changes in customer service database.  Work in the field as needed for reading routes, obtain final readings, and investigate customer service requests.  Manage and Maintain Fill Station.

Qualifications:  Requires exceptional understanding of CSR responsibilities, and ability to manage and supervise the billing office tasks in the absence of the Billing Supervisor.  Four or more years of customer service experience required. Must understand billing policies and be able to calculate adjustments, write offs and other adjustments to billing accounts. Must have working knowledge of the reading software and hardware and ability to run Crystal Reports. Exceptional verbal and written communications skills required. Must be well organized, detail oriented, and be able and willing to work as part of a team.  Proficient data entry and typing skills are a must. Comprehensive understanding of basic math skills needed.  Accounting experience desired. Must be able to operate a ten-key calculator quickly and accurately, and have experience operating general office equipment.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows, Office, Word, Access and Excel.   A high school diploma/GED required.  Valid Ohio Motor Vehicle Operator’s License with an acceptable driving record required.

Physical Requirements: Are the same as for the CS Rep I plus additional requirements for outside work.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
